Started using Elicit about three months ago for a systematic review in education research, alongside Zotero and traditional database searches. The semantic paper search and sentence-level citations make it much easier to trace claims back to the original PDFs, and the interactive tables for screening save a lot of clicking. It is not magic though, I still have to double check study quality and occasionally refine prompts to avoid irrelevant clinical papers. For a free basic tier, it genuinely speeds up my early-stage scoping and data extraction.

Running a small research group in psychology, I folded Elicit into our workflow about 3 months ago for two ongoing systematic reviews. The semantic search and interactive tables are the real standouts for me. Being able to screen a few hundred abstracts and extract key variables into columns (sample size, design, outcome measures) has cut our early-stage review time by at least half. I also like the sentence-level citations and the ability to quickly chat with PDFs when a method section is unclear. Zotero integration is decent, although occasionally a citation needs manual cleaning. The free tier was enough for a pilot class project, but for serious lab work we upgraded to Plus because we regularly hit the paper limits. It is not a replacement for domain expertise. Elicit sometimes overemphasizes recent or very similar RCTs and can miss more theoretical or qualitative work, so we still run a traditional database search in parallel. Overall, though, it actually makes literature reviews less painful and much more systematic.
